Bank of Marin Honored with Corporate Philanthropy Award

NOVATO, CA – (July 23, 2015) – Today, Bank of Marin was honored for the twelfth year in a row as a Top Corporate Philanthropist in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Business Times.  The award recognizes organizations that contribute significantly to the betterment of the communities where they do business, as ranked by local cash giving.

“We are deeply committed to the communities we serve and are very proud of our employees who contribute their time and talent to so many local non-profits,” said Russell A. Colombo, President and Chief Executive Officer.  “As a leading community bank, being philanthropic is intrinsic to our culture and it is critical to the success of our business.”

In 2014, Bank of Marin gave more than 1% of pre-tax profit to non-profit organizations spread across all five counties the Bank serves, including Marin, Napa, Sonoma, San Francisco and Alameda.  Over the past six years, close to a quarter of the Bank’s donations have benefited education and youth related nonprofit organizations totaling $613,500.  This includes $80,000 in contributions to SchoolsRule-Marin since their inception in 2013.

In addition to financial contributions, bank employees volunteer close to 10,000 hours during the course of the year.  Officers of the Bank also serve on more than 60 local non-profit boards.
