Bank of Marin’s South Shore Alameda branch hosted successful “Shred Day”
Supported “Equipped 4 Success” School Supply Drive
NOVATO, CA – (August 18, 2015) Bank of Marin’s Alameda South Shore branch hosted a successful “Shred Day” on Friday, August 14. Open to the public, the community was encouraged to bring boxes of documents for shredding and donate new school supplies at the same time. Bank of Marin Market Manager John Jacobs was joined by Vicki Sedlack, Executive Director of the Alameda Education Foundation in collecting 30 backpacks, 12 boxes of school supplies and cash donations with a combined value of over $1,500, all donated to the “Equipped 4 Success” School Supply Drive. “Equipped 4 Success” is a community–wide school supply drive in partnership with the Alameda Education Foundation, Alameda Unified School District, Alameda Youth Collaborative and local non-profits and benefits low-income students in Alameda. In addition, 6,000 pounds of documents was shredded, and the paper pulp will be recycled and used for new paper goods. Bank of Marin supports education foundations throughout the North and East Bay and donated $1,000 to the Alameda Education Foundation earlier this year.
