Bank of Marin provides community grant funding to nonprofit organizations that strengthen the communities we serve, with an emphasis on underserved populations.

Apply for a Grant

Nonprofit organizations may apply for community grant funding during the annual application period. We encourage applicants to review eligibility requirements and funding priorities before submitting an application. One application cycle is offered each year. Applications are accepted during designated periods each year.

Eligibility & Giving Priorities

To be considered for grant funding, organizations must meet the following requirements:

Eligibility

  • Registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
  • Serves communities within Bank of Marin’s geographic footprint including Alameda, Amador, Marin, Napa, Placer, Sacramento, San Francisco, and Sonoma counties.

Organizations interested in applying must meet the following requirements and provide services and/or support that align with the Bank’s giving priorities:

Giving Priorities

  • Community & Economic Vitality:
    Foster a thriving economy and community by supporting efforts to meet basic needs.
  • Education:
    Enable youth and adults to gain the skills to thrive personally and professionally.
  • Enrichment & Wellness:
    Enhance quality of life and provide access to health and wellness programs.

Charitable grants generally range from $1,000 to $10,000. Priority is given to programs serving underserved and low- to moderate-income communities.

Please note that our giving policy does not provide funding to individuals, private foundations, or organizations that re-grant funds, support political or lobbying activities, or fund cause-related marketing efforts.

Grant Process & Timing

Application Status: The 2027 Grant Portal is now open! Applications will be accepted from Thursday, October 1, 2026, through 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2026.

All eligible applications will be reviewed based on program alignment, community impact, and funding availability.

Process Overview:

  • Applications are submitted during the annual fall grant cycle
  • Applications are reviewed after the submission period closes
  • Funding decisions are communicated in March

Funding is competitive and based on available resources and alignment with priorities.
