Legendary Service
Twenty-one years after its founding in the North Bay, Bank of Marin opened its first brick-and-mortar in Napa. While the Bank has proudly been part of the fabric of the community since 2011, its employees have a much deeper-rooted history that collectively spans more three centuries.
The team—comprised of approximately 30 retail and commercial banking employees who live in and/or work in Napa— provide financial services to Napa-based government agencies, private and public schools, the wine sector, and health and wellness industries, to name a few. It is the Napa team’s dedication to the community and its customers that has earned the Bank the recognition of Large Business of the Year by Napa Chamber of Commerce.
“I attribute our success to two simple things: how we treat our clients, and how we support our customers and community,” says Scott McAdams, Napa Commercial Banking Office Regional Manager, who has supported the Napa community for 16 years. “We treat each commercial banking client as an individual business and structure products that fit their specific needs, not the other way around.”
“My customers are my family and they’re all treated as such,” says Diane Bishofberger, Napa Commercial Banking Office senior relationship manager who, over the course of her career, has provided more than 30 years of financial services in Napa.
Market Manager Cheryl Payan—a 24-year Napa-based financial services veteran—echoes Bishofberger’s sentiments, adding “I aim to build strong relationships that foster trust and loyalty and create a connection beyond our business transactions.”
The Bank’s mission to “do good by doing well” extends to being a contributing and active member of the communities it serves; philanthropy and volunteerism is at the Bank’s core and embedded in its culture.
“As a community bank, we believe we need to do our part to help our communities thrive,” says McAdams. The Bank leads by example by donating at least 1% of pre-tax profit back to the community. It also supports and collaborates with multiple nonprofit organizations and programs and sponsors various community events throughout the year.
Beyond providing financial support, the Bank encourages its employees to help strengthen their community by providing people power. “You’ll see my colleagues making a difference by volunteering on nonprofit boards, helping at schools, cheering on runners during Napa Valley Marathon, or providing a safe place for our kids to trick-or-treat during Hometown Halloween. We take great pride in giving back to our hometown,” adds McAdams.
“We work as a team and strive for excellence,” says Payan of the recognition. “We prioritize delivering ‘legendary service,’ maintain a positive attitude—even in difficult times, are creative, and flexible to changing circumstances, and never losing sight of end goal.”
“To be appreciated and able to help clients build their own history and make Napa a better place has been the most fun part of my job,” adds Bishofberger.
