Bank of Marin Announces 29th Annual Spirit of Marin Award Winners

12 civic & business leaders to be honored for their exemplary commitment to the community; Ben Fong-Torres, former Rolling Stone journalist, to serve as event keynote

Bank of Marin is thrilled to announce the recipients of its 29th Annual Spirit of Marin Award, a recognition bestowed upon civic, community, and business leaders—by Marin County Chamber of Commerce leaders—who embody the Bank’s mission to ‘do well by doing good’. Awardees will be recognized during an awards luncheon taking place Friday, September 23, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Marin Center Fairgrounds, Fairground Island in San Rafael and will feature Bay Area native and former Rolling Stone journalist Ben Fong-Torres as its keynote speaker.

“The demands on our time are many and yet each honoree displays the heart to engage with their colleagues and neighbors to meet a need in our community,” said Bank of Marin CEO Tim Myers. “It is because of their commitment that we recognize these 12 exemplary individuals and businesses whose acts of kindness and generosity strengthen the fabric of the county we call home.”

The Spirit of Marin—a signature luncheon hosted by Bank of Marin—began in 1993 as a way for the Bank to honor two of its original directors, Jack Bucknum and Jim Dawson, known for their unwavering commitment to Marin County. Honorees are selected by local chambers of commerce for their role in strengthening their communities and helping improve the quality of life for their neighbors in need.
