Bank of Marin Expands Its Footprint in the East Bay

Names Wim-Kees van Hout as New Regional Manager, Walnut Creek

NOVATO, CA – (October 19, 2018) – Bank of Marin has hired Wim-Kees van Hout as Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Regional Manager in Walnut Creek.  Mr. Van Hout will focus on building a local team of commercial bankers to work with privately held companies to provide business, equipment and real estate financing, cash management services and wealth management solutions.  He will direct sales activities, oversee loan structuring and underwriting, and ensure overall proactive relationship management for business clients, while extending Bank of Marin’s community engagement into the Diablo Valley.

Mr. Van Hout brings more than 30 years of banking experience to this role, the last 15 of which were spent at a California-based community bank.  While there he built a commercial client portfolio of companies with revenues between $5 and $100 million and helped launch the East Bay office.  Prior to that he managed one of the largest commercial portfolios at a regional California bank.

He holds a First class joint honors degree from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, and early in his career graduated from National Westminster Bank’s two year Graduate Management Development Program.

“Wim-Kees brings just the right knowledge and regional expertise in lending, business development and relationship management to build a successful commercial banking team in Walnut Creek,” said Russell A. Colombo, President and CEO.  “We are excited to expand our commitment to the East Bay with this move into the Diablo Valley.”

A resident of Berkeley, CA, and a committed member of the East Bay community, Mr. van Hout has been involved in a number of non-profits in the East Bay, including local school governance councils and as a Board member of the Berkeley High School Jazz Association working to develop youth talent.  He is also a member of Business in the Arts Networking Circle supporting the Symphony and was a major fundraiser for Walnut Creek’s Junior Achievement of Northern California’s spring event several years in a row.  Previously a Board President and 10-year Board Member of Rebuilding Together Oakland/East Bay, Mr. van Hout currently is on its Advisory Board.
